About Daniel Lee

Daniel Lee writes and speaks on organisational design in Christian schools.

He has observed that most Christian schools are led by people of genuine faith and capability, yet experience persistent friction because their organisations were never intentionally designed. As schools grow, unclear decision rights, overlapping roles, and slow execution are often misdiagnosed as leadership or culture problems, when they are in fact design problems.

He serves as Deputy Principal of a large Christian primary school in Melbourne, overseeing approximately 1,200 students, and has spent more than a decade leading and developing leaders within complex school environments.

His doctoral work examined executive team structures across 90 Australian Christian schools, identifying common patterns in how leadership teams are formed. That work led to a deeper focus on organisational design and how leadership systems can be strengthened in practice. He also serves on boards within the Christian sector and holds qualifications from Regent University, the University of Melbourne, and the Governance Institute of Australia.
